Lasse Juhl Morthorst
Lasse is advisor for MatchLocal. Prior to joining he has contributed to and led research and fieldwork initiatives across Africa, MENA, and Asia. He has collaborated with a diverse array of stakeholders, including local and national governments, civil society, UN agencies, and academic institutions. Lasse has primarily worked with qualitative research and participatory methodologies, ensuring that projects are locally driven and contextually appropriate. Lasse’s work includes designing and implementing initiatives that prioritise local perspectives and foster sustainable solutions in humanitarian settings.
Lasse has extensive field experience with policy-oriented research projects. These include co-leading a research project on urban migration governance at Friedrich-Alexander University, providing expertise on displacement issues for Bodhi Global Analysis, and acting as a researcher and MEL lead for a major collaborative project at the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex University.
Lasse has a master’s degree in international development and Global Studies from Roskilde University in Denmark, and he has published articles for academic and policy journals.
