With growing conflicts around the world and the number of protracted crises at an all-time high, their work is more important than ever. But at the same time, civil society space is shrinking and international funding is decreasing.
With your donation you can make a direct contribution to the institutional development and funding of local organisations.

Organisational funding, namely funding that can be used to increase the capacity of the organisation as a whole, is crucial for small organisations to develop their strategy and work effectively. Yet, most funding provided by international donors is project-based, which leaves no room to grow an organisation. It also increases the organisations' dependence on their donors as they have no means to strengthen their fundraising or outreach efforts apart from the project.
Investments in organisational development (OD) independently from projects allow organisations to make self-determined decisions on their strategy and the structural improvements to achieve it. Studies conducted show that investing in organisational development leads to faster growth and increases the organisation’s resilience and sustainability. They also emphasize the importance of tailoring organisational development initiatives to the individual contexts and avoid “one solution fits all” approaches.

MatchLocal supports the local organisations by providing a One-Stop-Shop for organisational development with solutions tailored to the organisations’ needs. By enhancing their organisational capacity and providing small grants, MatchLocal enables them to work more effectively and access more international funding.
How do we use the donations?
The Impact Partnership Program donations are administered by MatchLocal in a pooled fund, ensuring that contributions from donors are collectively managed to maximise their impact.
Donations received under this program are allocated equally between two critical areas: financing organisational development training and providing organisational development grants. These focus areas are designed to enhance the capacity and sustainability of participating organisations.
To cover operational costs, an administrative fee ranging between 7% and 15% of the total donation is applied. This fee is structured to decrease as the donation amount increases, ensuring that larger contributions result in a higher proportion of funds being directed to training and grants. MatchLocal employs efficient fund management practices to minimise administrative overhead while maximising the value delivered to recipient organisations.
